We decided Brownwood would be a fun long weekend - and then our pet sitter couldn't do the weekend. So, it became Rocky's Long Weekend. There is nothing more fun than traveling with a Chihuahua who would rather be home.
Virginia wanted to visit Lake Brownwood State Park. It is a great park if you have a boat. We did have a picnic while we were there with sandwiches from Big G Grocery. Many of the places we visited around town were sourced from (the Daytripper), with assists from The Texas Bucket List and Texas Country Reporter.
So, Rocky has now been to the Geographic Center of Texas (he was not impressed, apparently) and he's crossed Regency Bridge (a number of times, because Virginia kept making me refilm it.) The rest of the time, he got to relax in the AirBNB.
Rocky also got to eat at Underwood's, even though we were sitting in the parking lot. We had BBQ Beef Steak sandwiches which were quite tasty. Rocky had the chicken, his favorite. (He declined any vegetables.)
BBQ Steak Sandwich. Highly recommended.
Ribeye Specials on Saturday night. Love the steaks.
Wondering how smart some of the Lake Brownwood State Park visitors really are. Lake. It's in the name.
The Geographic Center of Texas. Only five miles from the sign on the side of the road.
