Dallas to Galveston

This is a really simple route - one of the easiest, because the Interstate system connected Dallas and Houston and then extended down to the island. 

From the magic of highway design, getting home always seems to take longer than getting there. Also, if you leave Dallas in the late morning, stop for lunch and a couple of soda breaks, you will hit Houston at rush hour. Joy. 

Good news: all you need to remember is I-45. 

Bad news: I-45 is under construction at all times, and Houston is between Dallas and Galveston. 

Good news: there are Buc-ee's distributed evenly all along the route. 

Bad news: the Buc-ee's are filled with people having their first Buc-ee's experience, wandering like Zombies through the aisles.
